Dr Paul Spizzo

Dr Paul Spizzo was born and raised in Adelaide, graduating from medicine at the University of Adelaide in 2008. He later trained in gastroenterology at Flinders Medical Centre and Royal Adelaide Hospital.
He completed a 3-year IBD Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, while undertaking a PhD. His PhD was focused on the impact of new medical therapies on disease outcomes in IBD and the impact of IBD on quality of life and disability, in order to improve patient outcomes.
Dr Spizzo’s main focus is IBD treatment using new drug therapies, and IBD drug trials. He has close working relationships with the IBD Nursing and Surgical teams across all practices and regularly attends multi-disciplinary IBD meetings and conferences. He currently practices at Tennyson Centre, Calvary Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre.
