Dr Peter Bampton

Dr Peter Bampton was a founding committee member of IBD Australia. He was involved in setting up Adelaide’s first IBD service, employing one of the first IBD Nurses in Australia. Since then he has worked at the Royal Adelaide Hospital IBD service, and been Clinical Lead of Quality and Safety for Gastroenterology at the Royal Adelaide.
His interests include:
- inflammatory bowel disease,
- functional gut disorders, and
- gastrointestinal cancer prevention.
He continues in an academic role at Flinders University with the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer. Over the last 10 years he has been a co-investigator in research projects that have attracted over $3.5 million in grant funding in areas such as colorectal cancer prevention, gut motility and inflammatory bowel disease.
