IBD SA is the only private practice in South Australia, and one of few nationally, that employ IBD Nurse Specialists.
Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are complex diseases that can be challenging at times.
The IBD nursing team are an integral part of the team, and work closely with the Gastroenterologists and rest of the team to provide care and support. As well being a point of contact over the phone, in person or via email, they can also:
- provide education if you are newly diagnosed,
- provide ongoing advice,
- assist in the organisation of biological therapies, and
- arrange urgent appointments and treatments if needed.
They can also see you on occasion for routine/urgent appointments under the supervision of your gastroenterologists.
